While Microsoft is known for its OS and software, Google dominates the world of internet technology and Apple is into the world of mobile phones. Although there are no clear cut boundaries, these companies own markets in their respective departments, and have also been tapping other markets.

Microsoft, for instance, has been tapping the hardware markets off late, and has been doing well too. With the Surface Pro series of devices, Microsoft has managed to capture many markets and has done it quite well. The company is all set to release the Surface Pro 4 in the days to come too.

However, the one major cause of worry for them is the Microsoft Mobiles division which has not been performing as per their expectations. Microsoft has ended up with a loss of $7.6Billion USD and 7800 employees have lost their jobs

The company is now planning to mix a successful device with a less successful one, and a new phone is expected to come out – as Microsoft gears up to mix the elements of Surface series of devices with the Lumia phones. Microsoft is all set to come out with the surface phones, and these phones are expected to be some of the most powerful devices of all times.

The company plans to release  the surface phones with the surface pen and mega feature. The Surface phone has been codenamed Project Juggernaut Alpha, and according to several leaks, it has a 5.5-inch display with QHD screen resolution.

It is said to be powered by desktop class Intel Atom x3 (SoFIA) 64-bit processor. The phone is expected to release with a 21-megapixel PureView Zeiss 6-lens primary camera, and an 8-megapixel Zeiss wide-angle shooter in the front.

The surface phone is expected to come featuring the S Pen-esque Surface Pen in the box, along with USB Type-C port. It is expected that the device will feature 64GB and 128GB storage options with support for microSD card. What are your views on the same?
