#GalaxyS6#Lollipop–Samsung Trademarks GalaxyS6 Edge+ Name, Launch Seems Imminent –We always learn about Samsung’s upcoming smartphones from the UnitedStates Patent and TrademarkOffice (USPTO) where the South Korean company trademarks the names for its new devices.
Each smartphone that appeared at USPTO made its debut on the market sooner or later. The same will most certainly happen with the Galaxy S6 Edge+, which has just beentrademarkedin the United States,GalaxyClubreports.Rumors about Samsung launching a Plus version of its Galaxy S6 Edge flagship smartphone date from two weeks ago when the first press render of the device leaked online.Samsung received grants for using the name Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (or Edge+) on June 30, but the handset won’t be unveiled at least until this fall.The South Korean company is expected to launch its nextflagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 5 in late August or early September, during IFA 2015 trade fair.It will be interesting to see whether Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S6 Edge+ at the sameevent, because that will certainly mean competition for the Galaxy Note 5.
Spec-wise, it might be inferior to the standard modelStill, we believe they will be placed in different price tiers since the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be packed with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor inside, while the Galaxy Note 5 will be powered by an Exynos octa-core chipset.If the information leaked proves to be accurate, then the Plus version of the Galaxy S6 Edge will be inferior to the standard model that comes with an octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset.More details that what we already know about Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ isthe fact that it will measure 154.45 x 75.80 x 6.85mm and will be powered by a more generous 3,000 mAh battery.There are also some speculations that the phabletwill sport a larger display thatshould measure between 5.4- and 5.7-inch. Other rumored specs for the GalaxyS6 Edge+ include 32GB internal memory, 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and 5-megapixel front camera.
