authentication technology.

Sources familiar with the matter told South Korean website iNews24 that both Korean giants are gearing up to add iris-based authentication system to their flagship smartphones.

Rumors of the iris scanner have been doing rounds even before
Samsung’s Galaxy S5 was released.

Samsung has already announced its mobile payment service Samsung Pay while Google Inc

Last month, rumors emerging out of South Korea indicated that LG’s next flagship will feature an iris eye scanner.

If the reports of iris scanner in the Galaxy S7 and LG G5 are true, these devices will be far more secure for users. Samsung has been working with the Stanford Research Institute to bring the iris recognition system to smartphones.

The Stanford Research Institute claims that the iris technology is
at least 1,000 times more accurate than the fingerprint scanner.
