How to create your social media content plan
Step 1: Decide how often you should post across platforms 
 Although there are some general rules of thumb on the posting frequency for each social media platform, the ultimate posting recipe is different for every account as it often depends on the industry and audience, the type of content you post and of course the platform itself.
For example, for Twitter Counter’s Twitter account, we found out that shifting to a once-an-hour, round the clock posting strategy had a positive effect on the overall engagement of our account. In general, according to a recent Buffer research a good starting point for posting across platforms is this:
Note: it is important to experiment with different frequencies for each platform. Timing is equally 
important to maximize the exposure of your posts depending on where your audience is.
For Twitter, Followerwonk can tell you when your Twitter followers are online and Twitter Counter 
calculates the most successful times and days in a week based on your engagement metrics. 
Facebook insights offers information on the best times to post for maximum reach whereas for 
Google+, social media science concludes that weekdays from 09:00 am to 11:00 am are the best.
Step 2: Decide what to post and where Once you have decided on the best frequency and timing recipe for each platform it is time to decide 
on the type of content to post on each platform. If you have marketing campaigns planned through out the year, you can already start thinking your message, the visuals and the platforms you will want to use. 
It is important to keep in mind that even though you could essentially post the same content on every medium, its structure and copy need to be adjusted to the specifics of each platform. 
For example, on LinkedIn link posts with linger copy work better than on Facebook. On Twitter, the 80/20 rule is a rule to tweet by. This means that a good content tactic is sharing 20 percent your own content and 80 percent third party content from 
trustworthy, reliable sources. 
Twitter suggests images or video as the best option to accompany your tweets and boost your reach.
Step 3: Write your copy and create your visuals When writing your social media copy, keep in mind 
that length matters. Social media scientist, Dan Zarrella suggests that tweets that are 100 to 115 
characters long are more likely to be retweeted . 
On Facebook, posts that are maximum 40 characters long do perform better in terms of 
engagement, whereas Google+ and LinkedIn call for longer updates. For a quick checklist of what you

Step 4: Fill up your social media content calendar. 
The last step of your social media content strategy is creating a content calendar. This way, you gain 
an overview of what you are posting on each platform and it is much easier to plan relevant content around important dates such as product releases, holidays and so on. 
Oh, and of course you’ll never need to ask yourself ‘What do I post now?’ 
Depending how much of a visual type you are, you can either use a template or use your scheduling 
tool to plan your content ahead. 
Remember that on social media, it is OK to repeat content as long as you present it in a fresh way using a different visual or copy for example. In fact, repeating content on social is key to boosting traffic and expanding your reach.

It’s been a busy month for Android apps, with news from big names – Periscope from Twitter lading on the platform for the first time and notable updates to Flickr’s mobile apps.
Then, of course, there’s the black-and-white photography app Lenka, and an overhauled version of QuizUp. All you need to do is peruse the list below and choose your favorites.
Snap Me Up 
Maybe you’re not like me. Maybe you like your morning alarm. Maybe you like selfies. If that is the case, there’s a good chance you’ll also like Snap Me Up, a new Android app that won’t let you silence your alarm until you’ve taken 
a selfie. 
If you just want to set a normal alarm, you can do that too, but it sort of negates the point of 
downloading it in the first place. 
There’s also a nap option if you just want a quick snooze.

MixRadio
MixRadio, once the preserve of Windows Phone devices, launched for iPhone and Android this month. 
Just like on Microsoft’s mobile OS, it allows you to create personalized radio stations for free from its

It promises to get better at curating your own station over time as it learns what you like, and what you don’t. Alternatively, there are some 
preset stations according to genres or specific themese.

arrived on Android this month.

people’s streams, if that’s more your thing.

QuizUp shot to popularity at the end of 2013, but it took until this month for the company to significantly revamp the platform to put more 
emphasis on social interaction around gaming. 
Indeed, alongside quizzing, the app now has full profiles and revamped UI to make it easier for you to find opponents based on age, topics, gender etc. 
The update also ushered in support for playing QuizUp on the desktop for the first time.

That’s a wrap on all things Google . In case you missed the keynote, here’s a recap of all the 
highlights you may have missed.
Android M 
Kicking off the keynote, Google Senior Vice President Sundar Pichai announced that HBO Now is officially on the Play Store before bringing VP of Engineering (Android) Dave Burke to talk Android M.
Permissions 
The first new feature is “App permissions,” simplifying what data users allow apps to access. 
In this new model, apps on Android M will no longer ask for a lengthy permissions list upon installation, but instead prompt the user for 
permission when the app needs to use a feature (i.e. camera or microphone).
Linking
Chrome Custom Tabs allows developers to add custom features that overlays on top of apps. For 
example, the Pinterest app can add custom transition animation to link to the Web, directly within the app.
There’s also a new app linking 
feature that will allow apps to verify links to switch from app to app quickly.
Battery 
A new “dozing” feature is designed to help save battery life when the device’s motion sensor is stagnant. Alarms and notifications will still push tothe phone in this state, however. Meanwhile, Google also said USB Type C is coming to Android devices “soon.” 
Google says apps will now also learn your sharing behavior to see who you share content with the 
most based on which app you’re using.
Android M Developer preview is available today for Nexus 5, 6, 9, and Player.
Google Now’s “Now on Tap”
To make your smartphone more “smart,” Google says it is working to make Google Now even more 
contextual by learning your behaviors, habits and lifestyle. 
 
To assist you in your daily life, Google Now wants to provide proactive answers – such as 
estimating how long ride lines are when you arrive to Disneyland or where you parked your car.
To do so, Google Now teased a “Now on Tap” feature that will gain context based on what you’re looking at on your screen. 
For example, if Google Now knows you are traveling to San Francisco, it 
can provide your boarding pass upon your arrival to the airport, give you an option to order an Uber when you’ve landed or give you an option to order groceries when you’re en route.
In another example, you can listen to Skrillex on Google Music and pause to ask Google “What is his real name,” and it will know you mean to ask about the artist you’re currently listening to.
The final demo includes a text on Viber that mentions dinner at a restaurant, and Google Now opening OpenTable with the page of said restaurant open and ready for reservation. 
You can also ask to see what a menu item looks like in case you’re 
curious, and Google Now will know what dish you’re referring to based on what’s on your OpenTable screen.
➤ Google ‘Now on Tap’ makes it easy to get contextual answers from anywhere on Android M Google Photos.
We all take way too many photos, says Google, so its solution is Google Photos . The app will help 
back up your photos (unlimited and free!) and allow you to browse photos across a timeline.
Additionally, it can also sort your photos based on People and Places without needing the user to add 
tags.
Finally, you can use Google Photos to make videos and collages based on suggestions the app gives 
according to location and date. 
It can also auto-create a movie based on recent content as well (of 
course, you can edit the content before you share).
A neat little gesture feature: You can also tap and drag to highlight photos you want to share instead 
of selecting each image one by one. 
Google Photos is available today on Android, iOS and Web.
➤ Google launches Google Photos, a new service independent of Google+ Offline connectivity Because Android is available in so many parts of the world, Google talked about its efforts to make its apps available in countries where internet is limited. 
For example, it launched YouTube Offline in developing countries in the past few months, as well as offline support for Chrome.
Today, Google also introduced Offline Maps , allowing you to access Google Maps location 
search and directions without requiring an internet connection. 
It can also aggregate reviews so you 
can access this information entirely offline. Offline Maps will be available “later this year.”

developer stuff, introducing Android Studio 1.3 preview and Polymer 1.0
Android Studio offers full editing and debugging support for C++, and 
developers can access various SDKs via CocoaPods .
Additionally, Google will launch Cloud Test Lab to help automate app testing across 20 devices to 
provide crash reports.
Google will also launch Cloud Messaging to iOS, allowing users to subscribe to topics so they will 
receive only updates that are relevant to them.
There are also a ton of new AdMob tools to help measure engagement and app install ads – including data like where your most valuable users 
come from. 
You can also test out your Play Store listing to see which graphics or copy works best.
Speaking of Play Store, Google is also reorganizing the way it displays search results. For example, 
searching for “shopping” no longer brings up the most popular shopping apps, but relevant sections such as “Coupons” and “Fashion.”
For parents, they can also look for a Family Star badge to find content that’s kid-friendly. They can even look for popular children entertainment characters and search for related content.

➤ Google is making it easier to find family-friendly content on the Play Store Android Nanodegree Google announced a partnership with Udacity to offer a six-month course that teaches them all- things-Android.
 The course costs $200 per 
semester to obtain what’s called an “Android Nanodegree.”

Virtual Reality 
Announced during last year’s conference, Google announced that the Google Cardboard SDK for 
Unity will now support iOS . It’s got an improved viewer as well, and is overall easier to assemble.
There’s also a new “Expeditions” VR program that lets teachers control virtual field trip destinations from a tablet and allow students to explore new places from a Google Cardboard VR system.
Finally, Google announced “Jump,” a camera rig system that will allow anyone to record VR video.
Essentially, it puts a camera – any camera you’d like – in a ring to record in 360 degree.
Google also partnered with GoPro to sell a jump-ready camera rig this year. YouTube will support Jump videos, with non-stereoscopic videos available to try this summer.

Google unveils Project Soli, a radar-based wearable to control anything

Leading into Google I/O, one session caught everyone’s attention. Google ATAP — the company’s skunkworks division tasked with creating cool new things we’ll all actually use — teased their session withtalk of a new wearable that would “literally” blow our socks off.
Project Soli is that wearable, but it’s not the wearable you might think it is. It’s not awatch; it’s you.Google ATAP knows your hand is the best method you have for interaction with devices, but not everything is a device. 
Project Soli wants to make your hands andfingers the only user interface you’ll ever need.To make that happen, Project Soli is really a radar that is small enough to fit into a wearable like a smartwatch. 
The small radar picks up on your movements in real-time, and uses movements you make to alter its signal.At rest, the hand is actually moving slightly, which end up as a baseline response on the radar. Moving the hand away from or side-to-side in relation to theradar changes the signal and amplitude. Making a fist or crossing fingers also changes the signal.
To make the signal make sense to an app or service, ATAP will have APIs that tap into the deep machine learning of Project Soli.It’s still early days for Project Soli, but it’s got the crowd here at Google I/O excited. 
Rather than go hands-free, Project Soli makes your hands the UI — which may already  be cooler than voice control ever was.

GIF now works on Facebook

Better late than never, right? Facebook appears to be finally rolling out GIF support.
After a false start in 2013 when Giphy introduced a workaround that made GIFs from its service appear 
as videos, Facebook is now allowing GIFs from other websites to play properly.
All you need to do to embed your favorite GIF is drop in a link in your status to a GIF hosted on any site, like Tumblr or Imgur, and it’ll play inline.
Easy! Note that images uploaded directly to Facebook don’t work.
You can check out some animated GIFs in action in this Facebook group . 
It looks like the functionality is still rolling out, so it might not work for you just yet.

Google add fingerprint function for Android M

Google has confirmed that the new version of its operating system, dubbed Android M, will allow users to unlock devices and protected information using just their fingerprint.
Announced today at Google I/O , two new APIs are now open to developers who want to add 
fingerprint authentication to their apps – either for unlocking the app or accessing protected information.
One of the first apps to support the feature is Dashlane’s password manager, which will let users 
unlock passwords and access secure notes on devices running the M operating system.

Google launches Google Photos, a new service independent of Google+

Google has launched a new photos app called –appropriately – Google Photos. 
It aims to improve how you store and organize your huge photo 
collection. Three concepts for Photos are: a secure home for your media, organization and sharing.
Google Photos available today for iOS, Android and the Web .
You can edit photos in-app as well as create collages, animations and stories. Machine learning makes the app smart, Google says. 
Over time, Photos learns faces and will organize images based on the people in them — scanning for people, places, or things to organize them. A share option utilizes more than just Plus, as in the past.
Photos looks a lot like Photos in Google +, just without the unneeded social component. The pinch-to-zoom feature acts like Apple’s Photos app and zooming in and out takes you to a more close-up view. It supports up to 16mp photos and 
1080p videos.
You don’t have to tag or label photos or create albums. When you want to find a particular shot, just do a simple search to instantly find any photo.
Auto-grouping is private by default. 
Photos will also bring Assistant, which helps manage your photos. Videos made from photos and video are also created automatically.

Facebook launches its controversial Internet.org service in Pakistan

Facebook has teamed up with mobile carrier Telenor to bring its Internet.org service to Pakistan.
Internet.org lets users access a range of sites and services covering local and global news, health, finance, education and jobs at no charge. It’s available on 2G and 3G networks via browsers and an Android app.
Users will be able to log on to Accuweather, BBC, BabyCenter &MAMA, Malaria No More, UNICEF 
Facts for Life, Bing.com, ESPN Cricinfo, Mustakbil, ilmkidunya, Telenor News, Urdupoint Cooking, OLX, Facebook, Messenger and Wikipedia.
The service first launched in Zambia last July and is already available in more than 10 countries, including Tanzania, Kenya, Colombia, India, 
Indonesia and Malawi.
Pakistan reportedly has about 27 million internet users, with half of them going online via mobile 
devices.
While Internet.org sounds like a boon to those who can’t afford mobile data or broadband connections, its benefits are hotly debated as it restricts users’ 
choice and access to sources of information to only those that are part of Facebook’s program.
Shortly after the service was launched in India, several companies dropped out of Internet.org in support of net neutrality.

App deep linking with goo.gl

Google announced today that links created using its goo.gl URL shortening service will direct users 
to the appropriate deep linked Android app, iOS app or site.
That’s good news for developers who want an easy way to guide users to content within their mobile apps, along with a fallback link to the same content on their websites, in case the app in question isn’t installed.
The feature works for newly created goo.gl URLs and existing ones, but of course you’ll need to have your app indexed by Google for it to work.
Developers can also take advantage of this capability by integrating the URL Shortener API in their apps, so that content shared by users also 
detects the recipient’s platform and directs them to the right app or site.

World White Web project wants to make Google’s search results more diverse

When you search on Google for the term “hand” or “leg,” the results you get back rarely feature a person of color.It was this particular search result that led Swedish design student Johanna Burai to launch the world White Web campaign. I was looking for an image of a black hand, and I expected to find one simply by searching for ‘hand’. 
A Google image search for the term “hand”gives you about 800 hits, but they are all white. You need to perform a more detailed search if you want to find non-white hands. 
The World White Web project aims to raise promote equality in search results and raise awareness of  ‘whiteness’ on the Web and any campaigns to stop it. The site features six images of non-white hands that you are encouraged to download and share on sites like Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest in order to boost their rankings on Google. 
It also includes links to informative pieces on related topics like white privilege and institutional racism. Burai told TNW that it’s about representation: I think representation is very important for all of us. To be represented in a positive or neutral way in all kinds of media, such as television, magazines, commercials, films etc. That’s why I want to make the Google Image Search a little more diverse. 
Less than a week old, the final year student’s project is gaining traction online with over 2,000 shares of the images on Facebook already. It will be interesting to see the impact of such a simplistic approach to a complex problem.

Russia is building its own mobile OS based on Jolla’s Sailfish

Russia may be getting an official mobile operating system soon. 
Russian minister of communications Nikolai Nikiforo has announced plans for Russia to build its own operating system based on Jolla’s Sailfish.
Sailfish is an open-source operating system based on Linux and Mer. It currently has less than one percent saturation in Russia. This move may be in response to a denial by Apple and SAP to comply with the Russian government’s request for them to expose their source codes. 
Russia wanted to know if Apple or 
SAP had allowed any US spy software in their operating systems.
Nikiforo also wants Russia to reduce dependency on foreign technology as the country faces sanctions for annexing Crimea.
In developing its own operating system, Russia would have tighter control on spyware. 
Though Jolla is open-source, it’s not known if Russia will follow suit and allow forked versions of their official 
state OS.

Microsoft’s App Studio now lets anyone make a universal Windows 10 app

Microsoft today announced an update for its Windows App Studio platform that allows anyone 
to create basic apps: it now works with Windows 10.
The app’s UI has been revamped to match Windows 10’s aesthetic, and it now supports the Universal App Platform Microsoft has touted for its 
new operating system.
That means the apps will work across phones and desktops alike – responsive design allows them to 
change their look to best suit the respective hardware. 
App Studio can still create Windows 8.1 apps too. Demo of how universal apps can resize Some other updates include:
App Studio no longer requires you to connect to the cloud for Windows Tile updates, which should improve the app’s power efficiency. Apps can now tap into Xbox Music to search for artist and album info Bing Maps is now supported for direct embeds. 
A tool called Application Insights provides analytics on your app usage and performance on a dashboard. And though App Studio doesn’t yet allow you to sideload your apps to test on a phone, developers can try it using either the phone emulator or a Visual Studio.
The Windows 10 Store will be open for app submission in the summer. If you want to try your hand at some new apps, head to the Store Beta in 
the Windows 10 Preview and download App Studio.

Yahoo and Google want to buy Flipboard to up their content game

Search giants Google and Yahoo are interested in buying Flipboard, a newsreader app, according to 
the Wall Street Journal.
The news comes just a day after Twitter was reported to be in talks to acquire the company for about $1 billion. Negotiations have been stalled since April, though.
Flipboard says its news aggregator had 65 million monthly active users this May. It’s raised $160 million from investors by December 2013.
Why is everyone interested in Flipboard? The recent trend among internet companies engaging 
users with content could be the reason.
Facebook recently launched Instant Articles for faster access to publishers’ content and better 
monetization opportunities, and Snapchat’s been working on initiatives like Discover to bring 
curated news to users.
It’ll be interesting to see how this deal works out, as each of the bidding companies have a lot to 
learn in the content distribution game.

Whether portraying unrequited love, forbidden love or passionate love, the media's ideas of love all have something in common: drama. After all, drama drives the media. But, guess what? When you're in a dramatic relationship, this reality isn't so appealing. Dramatic relationships are just plain sh*tty, and there's nothing romantic or alluring about that. Real relationships, to be quite honest, could almost be considered boring, and the media doesn't value "boring."For years, I bought into the idea that a relationship needed some type of drama to be legitimized. As I'm settling down, I'm realizing how truly wrong and exhausting that mentality was. For the first time in... well, ever, I'm in a healthy, mature relationship. It's different than previous relationships I've had because this one is real. It is solid. It is stable. It is everything I've ever wanted, and everything I didn't know I needed. It's also everything I ran away from in the past because it just seemed too "boring." Only now am I realizing that there is a difference between a boring relationship and a stable, mature one. 
1. Being your significant other's partner isn't hard. Until recently, I always struggled when I was in a relationship. Feelings of uncertainty and anxiety were overwhelmingly normal, while feeling secure in the relationship was not. Maybe this is obvious, but it shouldn't be the case. Being someone's partner should come easily rather than feel like a chore or a responsibility.
2. You don't have to be in contact 24/7.Part of an adult relationship is realizing that each person has his or her own world,separate of one another. This means that being together all the time or constantly texting just isn't feasible, and that is OK.Actually, it's even nice. I love my boyfriend,but if I talked to him constantly, I'd go crazy.
3. You don't want to change your significant other.I'll admit that I have a history of seeking out broken people and trying to fix them, which never ends well. This isn't the case in a healthy relationship. In a healthy relationship, changing your partner shouldn't even be a desire on your radar. Changing annoying little habits is one thing, but changing or fixing who someone is as a person should not be your goal. Maybe he or she isn't perfect, but he or she shouldn't have to be.
4. Your significant other balances you out -- and even calls you out.Rather than always agreeing on every aspect of life, your relationship tests and challenges your views. Your partner bringsnew views to light -- possibly ideas that oppose your own.When you don't agree on a topic, it isn't the end of the world. You acknowledge each other's positions and move on.
5. Discussing the future isn't scary. In immature relationships, there is less certainty and less communication about the status of the relationship, therefore less willingness to discuss the future. In an adult relationship, plans can be made months in advance without stopping to wonder where the relationship will or won't be.
6. You may disagree, but you don't all-out fight. Observing how the other person argues and adjusting your own style is a learning process, but part of a mature relationship. For example, I tend to shut down when I am angry, whereas my boyfriend is more direct. Adjusting to this was difficult at first, but now that we know each other's style of disagreement, we are able to communicate in a more mature manner.
7. Showing your love becomes more important than verbally expressing it. It used to irritate me that I am more vocal about telling my boyfriend I love him. He, on the other hand, doesn't say it as often, but shows it in his actions. Over time, I've realized that this is preferable to hearing it all the time. Sometimes love is in the day-to-day actions rather than the literal words, and this is definitely a more mature viewpoint.
8. Jealousy is a non-issue because the relationship is founded on trust. 
In an adult relationship, the male can have female friends and vice-versa without the world coming to a screeching halt. Each partner is secure in the other's commitment and does not possess an unfounded worry about cheating or dishonesty.
9. You're in sync with one another -- mentally and physically. This may sound like it's about sex, but it is not the case. It's more about knowing a person so well and having developed such a connection that his or her smallest movement can be predicted -- or sentences finished.
 It's about him or her becoming an extension of you in a healthy way.

1. Change the NAME and DESCRIPTION to match yourweb site details, as well as URLS and WEB_URL.</code> 
2. Save the file as manifest.json 
3. Create a zip file with name my app.zip that will contain your icon file (icon_128.png) and the manifest.js on created above. If you are using Windows the easiest way to create the zip file is to select both items in Windows Explorer, right click and select SEND TO – >COMPRESSED (ZIPPED) FOLDER. 
Once you have the zip file ready you can continue with the steps below. Adding your web site as a web app to Chrome

2. If this is your first visit, click the link at the bottom of the page, PAY THIS FEE NOW to pay the$5 fee. Once you have completed the payment you can continue with the rest of the steps
3. Click the ADD NEW ITEM button.
4. You will be asked to select a zip file. Click the CHOOSE FILE button and select the zip file created using the instructions above (myapp.zip
5. Click the UPLOAD button to finish the upload process.
6. You will then be asked to write the description, upload the icon file, screenshots and promotional images,select category and keywords.
7. Towards the button of the page you can also enter your Google Analytics ID so that you get statistics inyour Analytics account.
8. That’s it, you can now click the PUBLISH CHANGES and it is a matter of minutes for your web app to be made available in the store!
Note: When you are logged it to Google, you can see your web apps under YOUR APPS option from the left menu.

With capacities ranging from 32GB to 256GB, SanDisk claims that the Z400s brings all thebenefitsof solid state storage – including reliability, performance and low power consumption – at a cost thatis competitive with traditional hard disk drives.The Z400s is targeted at the embedded space for use in vertical markets as well as the mainstream computing market. SanDisk is positioning the drive as an affordable entry level solution, joining the company's X series and performance A series SSDs."With a single architecture, SanDisk is able to provide OEMs with an affordable solution for displacing HDDs in today's cutting edge consumer devices, and help embedded application designers avoid overpaying for un-needed space – all while delivering the peakperformance and high-reliability that only SSDs can supply," said Rizwan Ahmed, senior director of product marketing, client platform solutions, SanDisk.
Features
The Z400s is available in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities in mSATA, 2.5-inch SATA and M.2 (2242 and 2280) form factors. SanDisk says that the drives can be used in mainstreaming computing to bring the benefits of solid state storage to affordable-priced entry-level notebooks.For mainstream computing use, the drive fits inside popular mSATA enclosures with a 7mm height. SanDisk claims that the Z400s has a read speed of 550MB/s and a write speed of 380MB/s. These speeds are not too far off from the company's high-end 240GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD ($140, £91, AU$180), which has a 550MB/s read speed and a 520MB/s write speed.Even though SanDisk did not announce specific pricing, the company told TechRadar that the drives features a lower total cost of ownership compared to current solid state drives (SSD), and that the Z400s will be priced comparableto hard disk drives (HDD). For comparison, a 250GB Western Digital 2.5-inch hard drive currently retails for $47 (£30, AU$60) on Amazon while a 256GB SSD from rival Samsung costs around $100 (£65, AU$128).
Laptop use
SanDisk says that the Z400s uses less power than hard drives, with upto 20 times lower power consumption. The Z400s runs on aslittle as 30mW of power. When used in a mainstream computing laptop, this means that the laptop can run longer on battery power."By designing systems with the newSanDisk Z400s SSD, PC OEMs can deliver products that are 5x more reliable and 20x faster than traditional hard drives, translating into fewer returns, lower total cost of ownership and increased overall customer satisfaction," said SanDisk.
Enterprise use
For embedded applications, SanDisk is positioning the Z400s foruse in automotive black boxes, security systems and point-of-sales machines. Because solid state drives feature fast boot times, increased reliability and durability compared to hard drives, the Z400s should be a good fit for these types of solutions.The fast boot times will help businesses stay productive and retain customers if they need to restart their POS machines."Research shows that customers become frustrated after 2.5 minutesif there is no progress in a checkout line; after five minutes, one out of three customers will abandon the line altogether," SanDisk said of the benefit of transitioning to solid statestorage.SanDisk is currently sampling the drives to customers.

As usual all you need to do is update the app on your smartphone,run a sync with your smartwatch, and you're ready to go. 
It uses the mic on your timepiece to listen for songs but your phone does the heavy lifting. 
That means your phone needs to be in range of your watch in order to identify songs, otherwise you're going to be left trying to name that tune using your old-fashioned memory.

How Windows 10 will change smartphones forever

Phones have had a renaissance over the past half-decade. Gone is the idea that they are used simply for calls and texting, replaced by an all-capable device that can run apps, surf the internet, video call and more. Led by the iPhone in 2007, touchscreen technology and software improvements have meant that phones no longer need a keyboard and can have a large screen and a high pixel density. Other manufacturers, from HTC to Samsung, have added their own take on what makes a "smartphone," redefining the market in the process. Now, it seems that it's Microsoft's turn. After years of relative obscurity in the world of smartphones – Windows Phone, despite having some good ideas and positive reviews has never been a commercial success – Redmond has decided to take a different tack, incorporating its weakest asset into the biggest: Windows Phone has now become Windows. 
Redefining the smartphone
Previously, Windows Phone was similar in design ideas to Windows 8 but was never actually one and the same thing. There was always the promise on the horizon that the two would merge and apps created for one would work on the other (an idea that I argued would not shift the fortunes of Windows Phone), but with windows 10 for phones Microsoft has gone further and could, if the implementation is right, redefine how we see phones. The implementation is, with hindsight, blindingly obvious: all you need is an HDMI connection, a keyboard and a mouse and your phone transforms into a computer. Windows 10powers the experience and it's cohesive across all platforms, with apps being useable across them all. Working in Office on your phone plugged into a monitor is exactly the same as it would be if you were using a desktop, meaning that serious work can be done on a phone. There are, of course, caveats that may prevent this from being an immediate success. Microsoft has stated that "new hardware" is needed to enable this feature and no current phone that is eligible for a Windows 10 update complies. Shifting hardware is a mixed bag where Microsoft is concerned with certain ventures, such as the Surfacemodels, gaining relative success. The acquisition of Nokia makes far more sense in this light, despite the fact that it's losing money annually, as the company now has a foothold in the PC market. They would, as Steve Jobs liked to say, own the "whole widget".Whether the need to upgrade to get Continuumwill alienate current Windows Phone users remains to be seen, as does the problem of whether the feature is enough to warrant the purchase of a phone. Microsoft's suggested use case of new phone buyers mainly applies within developing nations, many of whom do not have £600 (or $600) to spend on a handset, even if it does rule out the need to buy a PC. These niggles aside, if Microsoft can make this work the firm will be in a position that few others are in: they will have cracked the smartphone/PC divide, streamlining the experience and reaping the reward.

1. Choose your channel name —The channel name is different from your channel URL, so this name CAN be edited. But it’s best to pick a name and stick with it for consistent channel branding. Choose something that is short and memorable (like your band or artist name), and that also lets viewers know what to expect from your channel. 2. Choose your channel icon —Upload a square, high-res (800×800) image that isrecognizable and looks great when displayed at smaller resolutions (so use text sparingly). This image will be your channel’s icon throughout all of YouTube. If your channel is linked to G+, you can use an image you’ve previously uploaded to your G+ account. You can access this from your YouTube account page. 
3. Upload your channel art —Channel art is the banner/header that appears towards the top of your channel when viewed on a desktop. Upload a large image (2560×1440) with the most important visual elements located in the inner 1546×423 area (so they’ll still appear when the image is scaled for mobile and tablet). Twitter and Google team up to display Tweets in mobile and web search Results

Google has partnered Twitter to display tweets in search result on mobile and desktop. The new feature will become available on the English version of Google.com, the Android and iOS versions of Google’s search app, and on mobile browsers.
The move will allow Google to get more real-time results in its search queries, and help Twitter boost engagement after a period of sluggish user growth which has weighed on its stock price.
"We're excited to team up with Google to bring Twitter's unique, real-time content to Google's search results," said Twitter vice president Jana Messerschmidt.
The deal will start with search results within the Google app and mobile Web, with a desktop version coming, said Messerschmidt, adding that the feature is due to reach more countries "in the coming months."
Now when you search for a person, 
hashtag, or popular topic of discussion, you’ll find related tweets on your results page. Like all other results, the position of the Twitter results on the page will be 
determined by their relevance to your search terms. 
This is not the first go- round between Google and Twitter. The two companies formed similar 
agreements in 2009, but let the deal lapse in 2011 as Google was ramping up its efforts with Google+.

Facebook Messenger’s Video Calling feature is now available worldwide

The video calling feature for Facebook’s Messenger was announced at the end of last month but was limited to just 18 countries. 
Now the feature is available to users using the application worldwide.
The feature was initially launched in 
Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, 
France, Greece, Ireland, Laos, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, UK, USA and Uruguay on both iOS and Android platforms. Facebook’s Vice President of messaging said Quick update on video calling in Messenger:

Facebook in internet.org trouble

The backlash against Facebook's "free mobile data" Internet.org scheme has spread across the 
globe.
A total of 67 digital rights groups - including i Freedom Uganda, Ecuador's Usuarios Digitales and 
Indonesia's ICT Watch - have signed a letter to Facebook's founder, Mark Zuckerberg, stating concerns about the initiative. They say the project threatens freedom of expression, privacy and the principle of net 
neutrality. 
Facebook continues to defend its offer. 
"We are convinced that as more and more people gain access to the internet, they will see the benefits and want to use even more services," a spokesman told the BBC. 
"We believe this so strongly that we have worked with operators to offer basic services to people at no charge, convinced that new users will quickly want to move beyond basic services and pay for more diverse, valuable services."
What is Internet.org?
The Internet.org app provides access to information from third-party services Internet.org allows subscribers of partner mobile 
networks to use a limited number of online services without having to pay to make use of the data involved. They include Wikipedia, the Facts for Life health site run by the United Nations Children's Fund, 
BBC News, Facebook, Accuweather and a selection of local news and sports results providers. To access the facility, people must use special Android apps, Internet.org's website, Facebook's own Android app or the Opera Mini browser. 
The web pages provided must be basic to minimise data use - high resolution photos, videos  and voice chat facilities are not permitted. 
Network operators participate because they believe users will pay for wider internet access once they 
have had a chance to try out the free content on offer. 
Since 2014, the project has launched in Zambia, India, Colombia, Guatemala, Tanzania, Kenya, 
Ghana, the Philippines, Indonesia and Malawi.

Restricted choice 
Until now, the most vocal opposition to Internet.org had come from India's tech community. 
Local start-ups complained they risked being disadvantaged because they were not included, while several larger groups that were part of the 
scheme - including the media conglomerate Times Group and the travel booking site Cleartrip - pulled 
services, citing concerns about it failing to provide a "fair, level playing field" 
. 
Internet.org has been criticised by India's net neutrality campaigners 
The open letter from the 67 digital rights groups - which has been published on Facebook - makes 
clear that activists across the globe intend to challenge its expansion. 
"It is our belief that Facebook is improperly defining net neutrality in public statements and building a walled garden in which the world's 
poorest people will only be able to access a limited set of insecure websites and services," it 
states. 
"Further, we are deeply concerned that Internet.org has been misleadingly marketed as providing 
access to the full internet, when in fact it only provides access to a limited number of Internet- 
connected services that are approved by Facebook and local ISPs [internet service providers]. 
"In its present conception, Internet.org thereby violates the principles of net neutrality, threatening 
freedom of expression, equality of opportunity, security, privacy and innovation."
Encryption ban 
Earlier this month, Mr Zuckerberg sought to address concerns by inviting more organisations 
to apply to join Internet.org's platform. 
Mr Zuckerberg says his goal is to let more people experience the benefits of being online But one of his requirements - that the websites 
should not include the HTTPS, TLS or SSL encryption technologies - caused fresh controversy. 
In their letter, the campaigners suggest this will make users' web traffic "vulnerable to malicious 
attacks and government eavesdropping"
However, a Q&A published on Internet.org's site promises it will begin to support SSL and TLS "in the Internet.org Android app in 
the coming weeks". 
And Mr Zuckerberg has posted a message to his Facebook page promising that support for HTTPS 
is also under development. 
"We still need to do some work to make this work on all phones and browsers - so that's why our 
docs say it's not currently available - but we're going to make this happen soon," he wrote . 
Even so, campaigners say they still have privacy concerns. 
"Given the lack of statements to the contrary, it is likely Internet.org collects user data via apps and 
services," their letter states. 
"There is a lack of transparency about how that data is used by Internet.org and its 
[telecommunications] partners." 
The BBC understands that Internet.org does receive some information about which pages are 
visited, which it uses to ensure that consumed data is not charged for, as well as to monitor the 
popularity of different services. 
However, there is no requirement for the partner services to share personal details about their users 
with Facebook.
